COLORADO SPRINGS UTILITIES (CSU), FLOCCULANT TANK – COLORADO SPRINGS, CO_

Colorado Springs Utilities (CSU), Flocculant Tank – Colorado Springs, CO

Citrine completed a feasibility study including CAD design work for the Colorado Springs Utilities flocculant tanks. The tanks needed repair in many areas due to prolonged use and chemical corrosion. The lower walls and floors of the tanks had exceeded the useful life span and needed to be replaced promptly. The plan included preliminary engineering for a repair plan, pre-fabrication – off-site fabrication of all possible items to reduce the outage days required, removal and replacement of the internals for 2 tanks, and the repair of the flocculant tank lower walls and floors. Citrine’s engineering deliverables included preliminary fabrication drawings, data sheets, and a bill of materials.

American Process International (API) Stress Analysis, York, NE

As a subcontractor, Citrine is providing support services to Olsson Inc. Citrine provided support to Olsson to meet project deadlines for the API Biomass project. This involved performing stress analysis on 29 pipes per the supplied line list. Preliminary stress analysis report per pipe/line to verify location, type, and quantity of pipe supports. Final stress analysis report per pipe/line to record location, type, and quantity of pipe supports. The project consists of the construction of a demonstration scale process plant inside a pre-engineered metal building at the API Green Plains York Pilot Plant. Olsson’s scope covers interior and exterior process equipment foundations, interior and exterior pipe rack steel and foundations, and the interior floor slab of the pre-engineered building. Olsson has also performed pipe-stress analysis for the process piping to identify guide, slide, and anchorage locations for the piping network, and to coordinate the same with the pipe rack structural design. The governing building code is understood to be the International Building Code (IBC) 2018.
